Psycho, autographs of cast and author
- Fine Frame Measures 2 Feet 2 Inches x 1 Foot 7 1/2 Inches. Seven autographs of the
cast members of the Alfred Hitchcock film, Psycho, and one of the author of the book on
which the film was based: Fine. Cast of film: Martin Balsam, John Gavin, Janet Leigh,
John McIntire, Vera Miles, Simon Oakland, Anthony Perkins. The Robert Bloch autograph is
not a typical example, though I have seen one like it in the Bloch archive; the others
are all very good examples. The autographs are framed together with a photograph showing
the "Psycho House" and Anthony Perkins standing outside, employing a nine-window
(opening) linen mat with red and black fillets, under UV protective glass, with a black
wood frame with an antique silver bead (liner). The frame measures 2 feet 2 inches x 1
foot 7 1/2 inches. Fine.

- A. C. McClurg & Co., September 6, 1922. The original two-page contract between Burroughs and his publisher, A. C. McClurg & Co. for the publishing of the first edition of THE CHESSMEN OF MARS, SIGNED IN FULL BY BURROUGHS. The two-page contract and photograph are beautifully framed together with a three-window (opening) black mat with white core and burgundy fillet with white core, under glass, with black-and-burgundy wood frame. Window for photograph measures 8 1/2 x 6 5/8 inches, windows for contract pages each measure 7 3/4 x 10 1/2 inches. As new in as new frame. A handsome display item and an important piece of science fiction history.

Printed Document Signed
- California. 30 August 1930. Original "State of California / Angling License / No. 238861," also elsewhere on form called a "Sporting Fishing License." It was signed by Edgar Rice Burroughs who also filled out the form. It is framed together with a photograph of Edgar Rice Burroughs. The signed fishing license and photograph are beautifully framed together with a two-window (opening) black mat with white core and burgundy fillet with white core, under glass, with dark burgundy wood frame. The window for the photograph measures 7 x 5 inches. The window for the signed fishing license measures 4 x 2 1/2 inches. The frame measures 22 by 14 1/2 inches. Photograph is fine (our highest grade), signed fishing license has a light vertical fold mark and several slight wrinkle marks otherwise fine in fine frame.

Typed Letter, Signed
- The letter is one typed page, on embossed
letterhead, dated September 16, 1948, addressed to the publisher, Donald M.
Grant. Typed single space and signed J. Allen St. John. This letter
concerns the use of J. Allen St. Johns illustrations for BUCCANEERS OF
VENUS by Otis Adelbert Kline. St. John says, Regarding the right to use my
cover and illustrations of BUCCANEERS OF VENUS, the written permission
should, no doubt, be in precise form. St. John goes on to say, I am a bit
coy as to the date of my birth. and he goes on to give a short
autobiography, including where he studied art, where he taught, and who he
worked for, Have illustrated for many agencies — A. G. McClurg & Co. (Tarzan,
Martian, and Westerns) . . . Framed under UV protective glass, employing a
two-window (opening) black mat with a white core and a burgundy fillet with
white core. The second window contains a color reproduction of the cover art
for St. Johns pulp magazine cover illustrating Otis Adelbert Klines
BUCCANEERS OF VENUS, which Donald M. Grant used as the dust jacket cover
art for his edition of Otis Adelbert Klines book, THE PORTS OF PERIL. Brown
hardwood frame with burgundy highlights and black bead, under UV protective
glass. Letter's matted size: 6 1/4 x 9 1/2 inches. Illustrations image
size: 7 7/8 x 9 1/2 inches. Frame size. 24 x 18 1/2 inches. Fine (our

Typed Letter, Signed
- 1949 Framed Piece. Fine (our Top grade)/Fine Frame. Signed by
Author of letter/artist. The letter is one typed page, on embossed letterhead, dated
August 25, 1949, addressed to the publisher, Donald M. Grant. Typed single space and
signed in full with the form of his signature that he used to sign his paintings. This
letter deals with the price that he is quoting Grant for his artwork: "Full Color Dust
Wrapper and three black-and-white interior illustrations in any medium you may prefer —
$300.00 complete." Framed under UV protective glass, employing a two-window (opening) black mat
with a white core and a burgany fillet with white core. The second window contains a color
reproduction of St. John's cover illustration for the first edition of Edgar Rice Burroughs'
TARZAN LORD OF THE JUNGLE. Brown hardwood frame with burgandy highlights and black bead,
under UV protective glass. Letter's matted size: 6 7/8 x 6 inches. Illustration's image
size: 6 x 9 1/8 inches. Frame size. 24 x 18 1/4 inches. Two mailing folds to letter

- N. P.: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. 1968 Frame Fine (Our Highest Grade). Lobby Card Near
Fine / Frame Fine (our highest grade). Signed by Author. First printing, WITH TITLE PRINTED IN RED. BOLDLY SIGNED IN FULL with silver ink at the top by Arthur C. Clarke, the author of the book on which the movie, 2001, was based. Picture shows five spacesuited men looking at an excavation site on the moon. Framed under glass with silver bead frame, silver mat with light purple and yellow filets. Image size: 13 x 10 1/2 inches. Frame size: 19 x 16 inches. Lobby card shows tiny pinholes in margins and a little wear otherwise fine (our highest grade) in fine frame.

Full Sheet of 100 Sri Lankan Stamps Bearing Two Different Portraits Honoring
Arthur C. Clarke.
- Colombo: Sri Lanka Government. 1999 Frame Fine (Our top Grade). Stamp Sheet Fine / First Day Cover Fine (our highest grade). First Day Cover w/ Full Sheet of Stamps. Stamps Signed by Arthur C. Clarke. A full sheet of 100 Sri Lankan stamps, bearing two different portraits honoring Arthur C. Clarke, who has been designated a Sri Lankan National Treasure. The stamps were issued in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The sheet of stamps is framed with a "First Day Cover" postmarked "1999.02.19 Colombo." TOP ROW OF STAMPS on the stamp sheet BOLDLY SIGNED by Arthur C. Clarke, as is the First Day Cover, which is also dated in his hand, "19 Feb 99," and is postmarked the same day, the first day of issue. These stamps are now out-of-print. Handsomely framed under glass with a silver bead frame employing a light purple mat with two windows with yellow fillets. Image size of stamp window: 12 x 16
inches. Image size of First Day Cover window: 7 1/4 x 4 1/8 inches. Frame Size:

of Harlan Ellison’s columns for THE MAGAZINE OF FANTASY & SCIENCE FICTION, faxed to him by
his publisher for his corrections. SIGNED WITH EXTENSIVE ORIGINAL CORRECTIONS AND
RECOMMENDATIONS IN THE AUTHOR’S HAND THROUGHOUT. WITH: a very cute drawing by Ellison on
page two, of a small alien who is asking a question of the publisher via bubble captions
over his head. The drawing is signed "Yr. pal, Harlan." Ten 8 1/2 x 11-inch leaves. WITH:
a signed, typed note and four additional photocopied leaves. The note reads in part,
"These are additional pages of the correx to installment 42, on the second pass . . .
Some of . . . this additional material exists only on these second-pass pages, and not in
the column as published in F & SF." Fine (our highest grade). Housed in a fine handsome

“ Repent, Harlequin!’ Said the Ticktockman.”
- Garden City: Doubleday. 1965 Long unbound galleys for first hardcover
appearance (Nebula Award Series 1965 edited by Damon Knight) of the short story,
“ Repent, Harlequin!’ Said the Ticktockman.” Signed. Five galley sheets (the complete
story) for one of Harlan Ellison’s most famous short stories and one of the ten most often
reprinted modern American short stories. The author’s own copy of the galleys, very
possibly unique. The sheets show one fold each, with a single light brown otherwise fine.

A photograph of the author taken c. 1964, about the time he wrote “Repent, Harlequin!’ Said the Ticktockman.” Fine.

A signed, full-page typed letter of provenance from the author, stating in part: "The appended congeries of materials come straight out of my file labeled — Repent, Harlequin! Said the Ticktockman. They are various tear sheets, page proofs, galleys and incunabula accrued through the years . . . and if you ask me to codify the sources from whence came these curiosities, I must ask that you NUHJ Mr. Levin for same. I’m merely the source of this paper file, he’s the expert. That’s why he gets the big bucks. Attested to, and sworn in blood, [signed, in what we hope is really brown ink] Harlan Ellison." Fine.
The five galley sheets, photograph and letter of provenance are very handsomely framed together employing a seven-window (opening) linen mat with a black bead (liner). The frame measures approximately 5 x 2 1/2 feet. The remaining items from the "Repent, Harlequin!" file are contained in two envelopes hidden behind a trap door in the back of the frame. Forbidden Planet Cast Autographs
- Four autographs of the stars of the classic science fiction film, Forbidden Planet.
The signatures of Walter Pidgeon, Ann Francis, Leslie Nielson, Warren Stevens, and a color
photograph from the film are matted with a five-window green suede mat with a white core
and burgundy fillets with white cores. The mat measures 13-1/2 X 17-1/2 inches. Framed in
a narrow reddish-brown wood frame with gilt rules. Autographs fine (our highest grade) in
fine frame.

A large color photograph of L. Ron Hubbard as he just stepped aboard his ship, Apollo
- He had just returned from "The Mission into Time trip," in January of 1968.
Left to right in the photograph are: Craig Lipsitz, L. Ron Hubbard, Mary Sue Hubbard,
Leon Steinberg and Irene Dunleavy (all in naval uniforms). This photograph has most
likely never been published. Image size: 12 inches x 8 inches. Fine.

- KING, STEPHEN.
A Printed Document Signed
- The document is entitled "Statement Pursuant to Section 507 of the Communications Act
of 1934 - Guest." Stephen King signed this document prior to his guest appearance on
the Today Show on October 17, 1991. The document measures 7 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches,
and is handsomely framed together with a photograph of Stephen King, employing a
two-window (opening) blue-gray mat with a black core, under UV protective glass, with a
silver wooden frame with an acanthus leaf motif and a black bead (liner). The frame
measures 10 3/4 x 15 1/2 inches. A very nice display piece. Fine.

- LANG, FRITZ and THEA VON HARBOU (Film Makers and Screen Writers).
Lang Printed Document and Von Harbou Sepia Postcard Photograph, BOTH SIGNED
- 1927, 1971. Frame Fine (Our Highest Grade). Document and Photos Fine / Frame Fine
(our highest grade). Signed by Two German SF Film Directors. A Fritz Lang printed document, SIGNED, and a Thea von Harbou sepia postcard photograph, SIGNED. The Fritz Lang signed document is his annual filing with the Directors Guild of America for his 1971 membership dues. One 8 x 10-inch leaf. Boldly signed "Fritz Lang." The Thea von Harbou sepia postcard photograph shows von Harbou and her dog, and is signed in full by her and also signed with the name of her dog. The photo is dated 13th February 1927, just a year after the cinematic masterpiece, METROPOLIS, was released. This grouping of autographs unwillingly re-unites Fritz Lang with his wife, Thea von Harbou, whom he divorced in 1932, after she joined the Nazi Party. Lang left Germany in 1933, after he had trouble with the Nazis. Back in 1926, Lang and his then wife, von Harbou, worked together on his 1926 silent film, METROPOLIS, which is considered to be the most important science fiction film of the silent film era. These autographs are very handsomely framed with black-and-white photographs of Lang and of the robot from METROPOLIS, employing a four-window black mat with white core and burgundy fillets with white cores, under glass, with a hardwood frame with burgundy highlights and a darker bead. Frame size: approximately 23 x 19 inches. Document and all photographs fine in fine frame.

Typed Letter, Signed
- 1937 in Handsome Portfolio. Letter Near Fine/Portfolio Fine (our Top grade). One page on one yellow 6 x 9-inch leaf. Dated Sunday, May 9,
1937. To Mr. [Roy] Hunt. Roy Hunt was the fantasy artist who illustrated MOONFOAM AND
SORCERIES by Stanley Mullen. The letter makes mention of Merrit's THE MOON POOL,
specifically page 285. Corners of verso of leaf showglue spots from a former mounting,
two mailing folds otherwise fine (our highest grade). Contained in a fine handsome
portfolio with ribbon ties.

World of Ptavvs Signed Manuscript
- Manuscript for the author's first novel, [c. 1966]. Original ribbon-copy typescript,
final draft. Inscribed, "for Brian [Kirby] [signed] Larry Niven," on first leaf.
Two-hundred thirty-two 8 1/2 x 11-inch leaves, typed double space. Foliated: [1]- 26,
"27&28," 29-87, 87A, 88-95, 95A, 96-156, 156A, 157-182, 182A, 183-211, 211A, 212-228.
Brian Kirby, one-time editor of Essex House, obtained this manuscript directly from
Niven sometime betwen 1967 and 1968. The manuscript is near fine in a fine quarter-red
Morocco (leather) fall-down-back box, with five raised bands and gilt lettering on spine.
An important piece of modern science fiction history.

grade). Fine ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPT, Final Draft. Signed Letter of
Provenance. Original ribbon-copy typescript, final draft. MANUSCRIPT FOR BRAM STOKER
AWARD FOR BEST NOVELETTE. Forty-three 8 1/2 x 11-inch leaves, typed double space.
Foliated and complete. With a signed letter of transmittal from the author's agent to his
editor. WITH a signed letter of provenance from the author's editor. This novelette tied
for the first Horror Writers of American Bram Stoker Award in the category of novelette
and was runner-up for the 1988 World Fantasy Award — all this for the author's first
published work of fiction. Edges of a few leaves brown, two very small coffee stains
otherwise fine. Housed in a fine handsome portfolio with ribbon tie.

"$4000.00 Grand Prize! Science-Fiction Novel Contest" flyer
- Chicago: Shasta Publishers. 1952 An original 8 1/2 X 11-inch advertising flyer for the
Shasta/Pocket Books writing contest. Signed by Melvin Korshak, the publisher of Shasta
Publishers. This contest was won by Philip José Farmer with his entry entitled I OWE FOR
THE FLESH (the never-published precursor to his "Riverworld" series), thus setting the
stage for what was later to be called "The Riverworld Affair." The back of this flyer
bears the carbon-copy typescript of the copyright page for yet another Shasta book that
was scheduled but never published. A very rare piece of science fiction publishing
history and a great Shasta Publishers item. Very near fine. Contained in a portfolio with
ribbon ties.

Autograph Letters, Signed, with Envelopes
- Dated Nov.
20th, 1945, and Dec. 6th, 1945. Two one-page autograph letters, each on one
8 ˝ x 11-inch leaf WITH a one-page typed list, “CARVINGS BY CLARK ASHTON
SMITH.” Both letters are to Mrs. Dale F. McBride. The first concerns his
carvings and notes the enclosure of the list.. At the bottom of the list,
there are a price and a handwritten note about the carvings sizes. Three
mailing folds to each letter, and both letters show some toning; the first
envelope was roughly opened and the second envelope has a bottom corner torn
away otherwise both letters and list fine in fine envelopes, in three mylar
sleeves. Housed in a handsome portfolio with ribbon tie.

- SMITH, CLARK ASHTON.
The Malay Crise
- The original holograph (handwritten) manuscript for Smith's first published short story, which appeared in THE OVERLAND MONTHLY for October 1910 and was later included in Smith's 1970 Arkham House collection, OTHER DIMENSIONS. Signed twice, once at the top of the first leaf, "C. Ashton Smith Auburn California" and again at the bottom of the last leaf "C. Ashton Smith." This is the form his signature took for his magazine submissions in 1910-1912. Originally five pages long, only four pages survive today (page 4 missing).
Four 8 x 10-inch leaves. Mailing folds, last leaf shows corner chipping (with loss of page number only) and a few small stains, otherwise in generally good condition. THE MOST IMPORTANT SMITH MANUSCRIPT EVER TO COME ON THE MARKET. With a signed letter of provenance from Scott Connors, THE Clark Ashton Smith researcher and scholar. Contained in a handsome portfolio with ribbon tie.

Star Trek Scarce Cast & Crew Photograph with Autographs
- 1982 Framed Piece. Fine (our Top grade)/Frame Fine (our Top grade). Studio Crew Photo
Signed by Cast. Star Trek black-and-white cast and crew photograph with separate
autographs. This photograph of the cast and crew of STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN was
given to the film's editor, William P. Dornisch, at the completion of the film along with
a card headed, "With thanks" and signed by "Bill Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, and DeForest,"
the film's stars. With a signed letter of provenance from Dornisch stating that the
photograph was given to him and that the autographs are authentic. The photograph is a bit
of an in-joke, with the cast the crew assembled before "Spock's" Star Trek movie prop
coffin with William Shatner in uniform in the front row holding a photograph of "Spock"
(Nimoy is the only major cast member not present); the photograph is a kind of mock wake
for "Spock." The photograph, autographs, and letter of provenance are framed together
employing a three-window (opening) linen mat with red fillets, under UV protective glass
with a brown hardwood frame with burgundy highlights. The frame measures 17 1/8 x 24 1/2
inches. All items and frame fine (our highest grade).

Not dated. SIGNED "Jules Verne." Very handsomely framed with a black-and-white portrait
of Verne employing a two-window linen mat with black fillets with white cores, under
glass, with a hardwood frame with burgundy highlights and a darker bead. Frame size: 19 x
14 1/2 inches. Fine note (our highest grade) with fine portrait in fine matting and fine
frame.

- Near Fine Photograph, Signed by Author. Approximately 4-1/4 X 6-1/2 inches, somewhat
light sepia-tone. Inscribed on the verso
in French with date (roughly translated): "For Edgard F. Gladin with the best wishes
of Jules Verne Amiens, 12 August, 1895." Some foxing to image; otherwise in near fine
condition.
